Veg Pizza Ingredients:

For the Pizza Dough:

  • 2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the Toppings:

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers (red, green, yellow)
  • 1/2 cup sliced red onion
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup spinach leaves
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Step 2: Prepare the Toppings

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Slice all the vegetables and set them aside.
  3. Prepare a baking sheet or pizza stone by lightly greasing it or sprinkling it with cornmeal.

Step 3: Assemble the Pizza

  1. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  2. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet or pizza stone.
  3. Spread an even layer of pizza sauce over the dough.
  4. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Evenly distribute the sliced vegetables on top of the cheese.
  6. Add the remaining mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with oregano and chili flakes.

Step 4: Bake the Pizza

  1. Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  2. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  3. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and slice into wedges.
